The Sony Playstation Day is currently taking place in England and the Press Conference has of course talked about Sony in general. However, we're only interested in talk about one game Resistance 2.
Here is the rundown on what has been announced during the presentation:-
- MyResistance.net will be completely revamped and will include "the kind of features you'll see on websites like Facebook". These features will be tightly integrated with the game for a much more full user experience.
- The campaign won't be shown yet, but it will focus on Nathan Hale going back to the USA - nothing new here. The story itself will focus more on Hale and he will this time have a voice. It will also divulge information about where the Chimera originated.
- The eight-player cooperative mode will have its own story, its own characters and specific awards which can only be gained from playing the mode. More information will be divulged about this in the future.
- Some ingame footage was shown in a wooded area. Mobile "bubble-shields" (presumably a new type of Backlash technology) are seen, as well as someone carrying a mini-gun. The GPS system from the online multiplayer in Resistance Fall of Man is also visible.
- Chimera will be playable again in Multiplayer.
- In the 60 player battles, players will be split into teams all with specific objectives to accomplish, so it won't be a 60 man free-for-all. They are working hard to try and make this game mode really exciting and innovative, but are weary of the problems it may cause. However, they are confident that they will break the mould.
- There will be a reward system which gives bonus points for teamwork. These can be used to earn persistent rewards and to level up.
Quite a lot of information, and it's definitely an exciting time. Hopefully more news will be revealed soon.
